from Lucy Lumb, National Centre for Craft & Design:

Please find an invite in the link below to an Artist Open Day at Hill Holt Wood, an environmental social enterprise and registered charity based in ancient woodland on the Lincolnshire border with Nottinghamshire.

Hill Holt Wood is developing a new initiative; inviting artists working across all art forms to become integral to their wider programme through a new Artist Residency offer. Having recently obtained planning permission for a major construction project on site, Hill Holt Wood are in the process of developing an Artist in Residence programme, with a unique, off-grid Artist Treehouse and Studio complex.

The event is on Thursday September 12 and is designed to consult with artists and creatives about the development of a new residency programme – especially those who have experience of running similar initiatives, or those who might want to support/promote the programme, apply for the residency or help deliver the programme.  The residencies will be open to artists working in all art forms with a focus on sustainability and the environment. Sub-themes might include woodland/heritage/health/activism.  It’s likely there will be a number of funded residencies per year, where artists can work on their own practice and also on shared projects with the Hill Holt Wood participants, and also a period of time when the space is open to artists to rent as a self-funded residency.

We will warmly welcome all who attend (it’s FREE!) with lovely refreshments and lunch,

Please share widely with your networks,
Kind regards,

Lucy Lumb
