from our friend Kate Walters:

I’m writing to let you know that I’ll be doing Open Studios this year, and it would be great to see you…

There will be archive boxes with watercolours inspired by Shetland; drawings, monotypes and mixed media pieces from Iona; and some new works in oil paint reflecting on where we as a species place our (inner) gold.

Prints of my new iPad drawings will be available to buy, as well as cards, and some monographs/catalogues on a range of artists/events (such as the Venice Biennale)

I’ll bring notebooks along, which I’m using as resources for my next book,  where I’ll explore the connections between painting,  dreaming, the shamanic, and psychotherapy. I’ll be happy to talk about this…

My book ‘Shetland Notebooks’ published by Guillemot Press last year will be available to buy.  All copies are signed and can be dedicated if you would like.

My studio, at Trewarveneth Studios, Newlyn, will have a clear flow of fresh air, and I’m going to limit numbers of visitors to 2 people at any one time (3 including me). Hand-washing facilities as you enter will be available.  I’d like everyone to wear a mask, please (I’ll be wearing one).

There is more info through these links:

Opening days and times are as follows: Saturday August 29th, Monday 31st, 1st September, 3rd, 4th, and 6th, all between 12 – 3 but I can manage 11 – 6 if you let me know in advance…

And I’d be grateful if you could call ahead so I know who to expect, and when… thank you! 07816 098807

Thank you for reading and I hope to see you soon.

I send greetings and best wishes,
