First Friday

First Fridays happen (surprise!) on the first Friday of every month. First Fridays is a gathering place for artists or anyone interested in the arts, an opportunity to share food and talk. Each month, after lunch, there is an informal presentation of work in progress by one or two artists who may be local or from far away.

You don’t need to let us know if you’re coming –  just come along and join in. Normally we spend the first hour at a shared lunch (bring something to share!) but in the age of pestilence we are doing things differently.

Of course we’re not meeting in person now, but continue to meet on Zoom. The advantage of this is that you can join us from anywhere or anywhen. The disadvantage is that there are no hugs (or food). Click on the details of the next First Friday (below) to get the details.

DATA PROTECTION: When you join us on a Zoom call your private information remains private. However anythoug you choose to share either by screen sharing or on the chat will be published. When you share information in this way you are agreeing to share the information with others.

In the pre-pandemic era we gathered at Dartington Space, in the Garden Room, starting with lunch at 1pm and proceeding to the artist talk around 2. We generally finish between 3 and 3.30.  If the venue is different we’ll let people know through the usual channels, including Facebook and this website.  All are welcome (any age). Most venues are wheelchair/buggy accessible. Perhaps one day we will do this again.

Get directions to Dartington Hall. Most months we’ll meet in the Garden Room at Dartington Space, which is relatively easy to find. Park in the main car park at Dartington then walk DOWN the hill until you see the large blue SPACE sign. Walk down towards the buildings until you reach the end. We are upstairs.
