from member Laura Denning:
Please accept this invitation to enjoy Plymouth Art Weekender 2018, and to come along to one of only 2 performances I am producing for this years’ festival of the arts (28-30 September).
Hydrosapien is a celebration of our seas, rivers and watery places. Two live performances bring a Silent Choir and a duet of experimental voice artists to present a 30 minute event, the first at Plymouth Guildhall on September 28th (6pm) and the second, on Barbican Wharf, at 2pm on 29th September. Both are free and all are welcome.
A Silent Choir uses sign language (BSL) to express themselves. I have teamed up with members of Plymouths’ D/deaf communities, hearing communities, conventional choirs and members of the public to create this choir. People new to BSL, learners and those who use it everyday are learning a short poem together, with the help of a specially commissioned video tutorial, and BSL interpreters. YOU CAN JOIN THIS CHOIR!
