Anna Kirk-Smith

Anna Kirk-Smith is a graduate of the Royal College of Art, fine artist and lecturer in Fine Art at Hull School of Art and Design. She makes artwork, writes and lectures on subjects of natural sciences to raise awareness of political, social and environmental issues, often in collaboration with conservation organisations and NGO’s. Recent and on-going projects include On the Endless Here (with Hull Geological Society),  ‘Bringing the Dead Sea to Life’ highlighting watershed and political issues in partnership with Israeli, Jordanian, Palestinian organisations, schools and international artists from the Artists for Nature Foundation, and creating a native marine species sculpture garden investigating plastic sea-pollution issues with Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. Despite all the heavy themes, she is not without a sense of humour.
