Caroline Hyde-Brown

I am an artist specialising in embroidery and I am currently studying for an M.A. in Textile Design. My research is centred around ancient woodland and a crop called Grass Pea. I am working in collaboration with John Innes Plant Research Centre on paper making and product design using the residue of this plant. Observational studies of plants and their roots are taking place over 2020 and I hope to travel out to India next year to teach my methods to the villagers in the Sundarban region of India.

My research is centred around the Neolithic Grass Pea crop which is grown across vast swathes of India, Ethiopia and Africa
