Research Activities

Research activities at art.earth

Many people involved with art.earth are active researchers. We have a number of academic partners, we publish and we convene conference events and other learning events.

We have a group of Associate Researchers; many are practicing artists with others are engaged with issues around the environment, conservation, ecophilosophy and other areas relevant to our core mission. See our current researchers.

We also work closely with the Associate Artists and Curators at the Centre for Contemporary Art & the Natural World – our main partner.

We house the online archive from the Research in Art, Nature and Environment Research Group formerly at Falmouth University under the leadership of Daro Montag.

We are currently (2017-2020) working with partner CCANW to deliver a series of research outcomes for the Science Walden project at UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science & Technology) in S. Korea. art.earth/CCANW Director Richard Povall is a Visiting Professor at UNIST.

We convene international conference events. These have included Language, Landscape and the Sublime (2016), Feeding the Insatiable (2016), In Other Tongues (2017) and Liquidscapes (2018).
